Rolling desk mod. 804, designed by gianfranco frattini for bernini in 1963. Made of rosewood, with the desk surface covered in leather. It features ten drawers at the bottom, equipped with nickel-plated metal handles that maintain the clean aesthetic of the piece. Inside, it has another ten smaller drawers and four open compartments on the back.

Bernini is an italian company founded in milan in 1954, specialized in the production of high-end furniture that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. During the 1950s and 1960s, bernini stood out for its attention to detail, the use of fine materials such as exotic woods, leather, and metallic finishes, as well as its commitment to quality and functionality. The brand is renowned for its timeless elegance and for offering pieces that seamlessly blend aesthetics and comfort, establishing itself as a benchmark of mid-century italian design.

“Africa” model chest of drawers with ten drawers, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, from the Artona series produced by Maxalto. Made of walnut with ebonized inlays. Drawers and handles upholstered in brown leather. Italy 70s.

Afra (1937-2011) and Tobia (1935-) Scarpa studied at the Venice Institute of Architecture. Tobia first worked for the Italian glass manufacturer Venini. Starting in 1960, the couple opened their own design office which they designed for numerous important Italian and international companies such as Flos, Gavina, B&B Italia, Cassina, Knoll International and many interior projects for numerous companies around the world. His work includes architecture and everyday items such as furniture and clothing.
