Arne Vodder was a prominent Danish designer, born in 1926, whose career and work in furniture design made him internationally recognized. Initially, he trained as a cabinetmaker and architect, and had the opportunity to study under Finn Juhl at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, graduating in 1947.

After completing his education, he began working as a designer at Hindsgaul, a firm in Copenhagen, where he specialized in office decoration.

However, what stands out most in Vodder's career are his furniture designs. His pieces were known for their simplicity and choice of natural materials, such as rosewood and teak. His designs were often inspired by natural forms and occasionally incorporated colored panels.

Throughout his career, he collaborated with several renowned brands, such as Fritz Hanson, France & Søn, Nielaus, Sibast and Kircodan (where he designed garden furniture), as well as working on interior design for the store Havemanns Magasin A/ S.

His furniture designs graced Jimmy Carter's White House, Anwar Sadat's presidency in Cairo and the United Nations Office in Geneva, as well as finding their way into hotels, banks and embassies around the world.
