MID-CENTURY LAMP BY OSCAR TORLASCO. ITALY, 1950s

Floor lamp designed by Oscar Torlasco. Brass structure with three arms and adjustable cups. Italy, 1950s.

This elegant floor lamp perfectly embodies the refinement and innovation that characterized mid-20th-century Italian design. Its brass structure supports three arms of varying lengths, each topped with an adjustable conical shade in black, red, and yellow, creating a dynamic and sculptural composition with a powerful visual impact.

The design allows for independent light direction thanks to its adjustable cups, providing versatility and functionality without sacrificing a sophisticated aesthetic. The combination of clean lines, premium materials, and chromatic details reflects the creative optimism of postwar Italy and the influence of the Mid-Century Modern movement.

Oscar Torlasco was one of the most prominent Italian lighting designers of the 1950s and 60s, renowned for his creations for manufacturers such as Lumi. His designs are distinguished by their balance of elegance, technical innovation, and a distinctive formal character.
