His architectural style, influenced by figures such as Alvar Aalto and Erich Mendelsohn, has often been described as neo-baroque or neoliberty, as he avoided rationalism and its connotations, seeking a more organic and artistic expression in his work. Yves Klein was a multifaceted and avant-garde artist whose work challenged conventional art labels. His artistic approach encompassed various currents, including neo-Dadaism, pop art and abstract art, but in the end he invented his own current called “Noveau Réalisme”. In the 1960s, this trend sought to somehow merge life and art in a unique way.

Klein's work is mainly characterized by being monochromatic, and in his latest creations he used exclusively one color, the famous International Klein Blue (IKB). His artistic actions were also notable, such as anthropometry, in which he painted women's bodies with his distinctive blue.

Pair of asymmetrical side tables covered in blue ceramic and brass. Made by hand using the Japanese Raku technique. These little tables are a unique piece, designed exclusively for LA Studio. Made in Italy 2023

Raku-yaki, also known as Raku pottery, is an ancient utilitarian pottery technique of oriental origin. Although it is believed to have originated in Korea, it was in Japan where it was developed and gained widespread interest.

Starting in the 16th century, Raku attracted tea masters, who were influenced by Zen Buddhist philosophy and found great pleasure in working with this clay. During the tea ceremony, participants used to drink from vessels they had made themselves.

The Raku technique involves cooking at a low temperature, around 1,000 degrees Celsius, in a special oven. The pieces are removed from the kiln when the glazes have melted and then placed in a container filled with organic material.

This creates an atmosphere with little oxygen, known as a reducing atmosphere. This process produces a physical-chemical transformation that results in metallic effects, pearlescent surfaces and surprising changes in the color of the ceramic pieces.

Measurements: Diameter 117 x H 73 cm

Alberto Carlo Scarpa was born on June 2 in Venice, the son of Antonio Scarpa, and Emma Novello, his second wife.

His career in architecture began with collaborations in the studio of Vicente Rinaldo, where he managed several projects, including the Church of Travettore Rosa in Vicenza and the Pradipozzo bell tower in Oderzo in 1923, as well as the Church of Santa Maria di Sala in Venice and the Aviano bell tower in Udine in 1924.

In that same year, he obtained the title of competence in architectural design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

In November of that year, Scarpa began working as an assistant to Guido Cirilli at the University Institute of Architecture in Venice, where Cirilli taught architecture. He held this position until 1929. In December, he applied to register as an architect, although he was unsuccessful at that time.

Then, he joined Franco Pizzuto's company, where he worked on several projects in Fontaniva, Padova. These projects included the design of a villa for Juan Campagnolo, the construction of an industrial building with adjacent housing, a courtyard, the renovation of Angel Veil's villa, and the restoration of Aldo Martini's villa in Padua.
